Added impetus for company’s environmental and quality policy
Württembergische Elektromotoren GmbH has been awarded ISO 14001:2004 certification, confirming that the company has successfully implemented an internationally recognised environmental management system. The certificate is only awarded to organisations which are committed to reducing the environmental impact of all internal processes. All aspects of an organisation’s operations must be clearly defined and implemented, from the procurement of non-harmful materials and the use of efficient production processes and storage to eco-friendly disposal. The ISO standard also requires the environmental management system to be continually developed. All environmental activities are constantly monitored, evaluated and optimised by the company. To date, only a limited number of German companies have successfully gained certification. In the case of WEG, environmental management covers the development, production and distribution of electric motors, geared motors, gear units and electronics for electrical drive engineering in a power range of 40 W to around 1100 W.
In addition to the ISO 14001 certification, WEG has also been recertified to ISO 9001:2008. These two certificates are testimony to the effective interaction of the company’s environmental and quality management activities. As well as environmental and quality considerations, WEG is equally committed to safety. All areas of the organisation are monitored on an ongoing basis as part of a continuous improvement process.
Customers and suppliers value and support WEG’s conscientious use of valuable resources and the positive balance between economics and environmental responsibility that forms part of the company’s philosophy.
